Flipping through the latest issue of Make I found a kindred soul. Dutch Sound Sculptor Jeroen Diepenmaat had his father taxidermy birds that he then mounted on record players, using the beak as a needle. The LPs he played were of birdsongs. Fantastic. Some images here and here.
